Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck) flattens the abdomen by removing excess fat and skin and tightening muscles of the abdominal wall. This procedure is usually outpatient with preparation and procedure encompassing 2 to 5 hours.

General anesthesia is administered during the procedure. Temporary pain, swelling, soreness, numbness of abdominal skin, bruising and tiredness for several weeks can be expected.

Our patients are usually back to work in 2 to 4 weeks, but should avoid more strenuous activity for 4 to 6 weeks or more. Fading and flattening of scars can take 3 months to 2 years.
