A Thanksgiving
Reflection
This year marked my 20th year in private practice. As I reflect
over these years, I'd like to give thanks and gratitude to my staff.
I consider them family. They are wise advisors regarding what's
best for my practice. All of them behave with utter professionalism
by maintaining patient confidentiality, caring deeply for every
person entrusted to our care, and educating themselves about new
developments so that The Lawler Centre can remain at the cutting
edge of cosmetic medicine.
 |
Sarah was my first nurse. She began with me 16
years ago. She's the reserved, soft spoken Angel (thus nicknamed
by my patients) who guides me from patient to patient, often
holding a hand for comfort. Rarely has she taken a sick day.
She often works longer hours than anyone here. |
 |
For the last 13 years, Vicki has broadened her
education to take in every aspect of cosmetic practice. From
coding to marketing to training in Intense Pulsed Light services,
she's cross trained to take over anyone's position at any given
time. Her professional growth and constant quest for knowledge
make her an invaluable employee. |
 |
MaryAnn's been looking out for our bottom line
for 12 years. Affectionately nicknamed "Guido," she reins in
expenses in an era of runaway price increases. She's also a
wonderful advocate for cosmetic surgery, patiently educating
patients about what modern medicine can do for them. |
 |
Anne, our esthetician of almost 9 years, has
benefited my patients with excellent skin care. She remains
at the top of her field in terms of education, training and
expertise. She stays on top of upscale trends in a very competitive
field. |
 |
Dawn came onboard 8 years ago and has been scheduling
my life and practice ever since. Quiet and shy when she started,
she now shares her dry wit with us, pointing out our foibles
with loving irony. |
I'd also like to recognize the Operating Room team, which includes
attentive and proficient registered nurse Tina, our new medical
technician, Karisa, and all the doctors from Palm Bay Anesthesia.
Every one of them has given my patients outstanding surgical care.
The world has changed drastically over these last two decades. At
times, it seemed as though my team and I were traveling at warp
speed to keep up with the changes. Our heads have been spinning
as we sorted through the new, exciting, solid procedures out there
and culled out the fast-buck gimmicks around every corner.
Throughout this process there's been one common force that's made
it work all these years -- my loyal staff.
Happy Thanksgiving.
