Forget Upper Thigh Stubble and Itching
IPL Hair Removal Gives You a Smooth, Flawless Bikini Line

Have you had it with the pain and expense of waxing your bikini line? Are you ready to dispense with that embarrassing itching and stubble that starts a few days after you get your upper thighs waxed?

There's no longer any reason to put up with bikini line discomforts. Laser hair removal with Intense Pulsed Light makes it easy and inexpensive to say goodbye to hair forever.

Not a Laser

At the Lawler Centre, we use Intense Pulsed Light machines for our hair removal. This is a filtered light technology that's newer than lasers. For convenience's sake people call it "laser hair removal," but that's just to distinguish it from the old-fashioned ways of getting rid of unwanted hair.

It's All About Freedom
As one of our patients put it, "For the first time I can throw on a bathing suit without even thinking about checking my body for hair. It's a nice feeling of freedom."

Am I a candidate for laser hair removal?
Laser hair removal is not for everyone. The absolute requirement is that one's hair must be darker than the surrounding skin. If you have a tan, you should wait until your skin has returned to its normal color before seeking laser hair removal.

Very darkly pigmented people absorb laser energy faster than fair people, so their treatments will take longer, as it must be done at lower settings. However, we can calibrate the treatments so they are not harmful in any way.

Does It Hurt?
Everybody experiences pain differently. The laser pulses for just a fraction of a second, heating the hair follicle to the point where the hair is permanently eliminated. This results in a stinging feeling. If you are highly sensitive to this stinging we will apply a topical anesthetic to numb the pain.

Why Multiple Treatments?
Our patients often ask us why they have to come back six months or so after their initial round of laser treatments for "touch-ups." The reason is that hairs that are visible at any given time constitute only about 85% of your total hairs. Another 11% of your hair is in a resting phase: the follicles are not growing hair. Another 4% are in the hair shedding phase, when hair falls out.

Laser hair removal works only on hair in the growing phase, and works best on follicles in the early part of the growing phase. So, any permanent hair removal treatment only targets a percentage of your follicles.

Further treatments are needed at later date to target the remaining follicles, as they progress into the early phase of the hair growing cycle. We charge half the basic price for follow-up treatments.

Worth the Trouble
Yes, it takes a bit of time and patience to get the perfectly smooth, hairless look parts that makes you more attractive to yourself and others. But more and more people are deciding it's worth it.
