A Glowing
Complexion, Gently
Microdermabrasion Works for Everyone
Microdermabrasion
is becoming an increasingly popular technique for rejuvenating skin.
One reason is that it's gentle enough to be used on all skin types.
Another is that it causes less peeling than laser treatments.
Word-of-mouth about microdermabrasion's gentle, low-impact way of
restoring a youthful glow has made it the third most-asked-for nonsurgical
cosmetic procedure, right after Botox and chemical peels.
In 2005, 859,000 patients received microdermasion treatments.
A Light, Mild Office Procedure
It's an office procedure that lightly abrades the top layer of skin
cells with a stream of crystals. Meanwhile, a suction device carries
the exfoliated, dead cells away.
You'll see an immediate improvement, lightening age spots, acne
scars, surface imperfections (such as crow's feet), and sun damage.
The process also stimulates production of collagen, so improvements
continue and the skin ends up firmer and healthier all around.
How Long and How Many Treatments?
Each session takes approximately 30 minutes to an hour. For best
results, we recommend between 5 and 12 treatments, spaced from 2
to 3 weeks apart. To keep your beautiful results, you'll want to
come back in for periodic repeat treatments after the initial regimen
is completed.
This Won't Interrupt Your Schedule
There is no down time after this treatment. However, your skin may
be slightly pink. You can return to work or other activities immediately
following the treatment, although people whose jobs require intensive
public contact may want to wait a day or so before "going public"
again.
Is It Only for the Face?
Besides rejuvenating facial skin, Microdermabrasion can be used
on the neck, upper chest, and the backs of your hands.

Considerations
Requires multiple sessions and maintenance treatments.
Is it for Me?
For some people, microdermabrasion works best when combined with
a light chemical peel, which will increase the effect. I can usually
tell from examining your skin whether this would be right for you.
If you've been concerned about your appearance and longing for a
fresher, more glowing look, microdermabrasion may be just the pick-up
you need. Feel free to come in and talk about it. If you could benefit
from this gentle, healthy way to restore your skin, after one consultation
I can give you the answer.
